A real eye-catcher, the Polianthes. Also known as the tuberose, this flower is loved in bouquets for its elegant and enchanting appearance.
The name Polianthes is derived from the Greek word poly, meaning 'many', and anthos, meaning flower. This name refers to the abundant flowers the plant can produce.
One of the Polianthes' most unique and valued characteristics is its sweet, intoxicating fragrance. The flowers emit an intense, floral and sensual fragrance, which adds to its appeal in bouquets. Not for nothing is it often used in romantic perfumes... Tuberose is a precious perfume ingredient: as many as 1,200 kilos of flower buds are needed for 2 dl of oil!

The '365 days of flowers' campaign is an initiative of the promotion committee 365 days of flowers, part of Royal FloraHolland. Over 1,800 growers from 15 different countries make this possible. They grow over 150 different flowers, which are promoted throughout the year based on Royal FloraHolland's availability dates. The objective of the '365 days of flowers' campaign is to jointly develop sales opportunities for florists.
