All about the Euphorbia

Euphorbia, also known as Spurge, is a typical seasonal flower. From early September to late December, this beauty is widely available. Euphorbia is traditionally grown as a feather: an elongated panicle of flowers. There is now also a beautiful branched version.

The colour palette ranges from white, yellow and orange to red. You can vary and experiment with that to the end of December. The colourful flowers are beautiful in lush bouquets, but so much more is possible. How about a winter bouquet with Euphorbia; the flower has the perfect look for that. You can also present individual flowers in tall glass vases; as the stems are then clearly visible, you emphasise their length. Furthermore, the flower should not be missing in winter bridal bouquets: from classic to bohemian style.

The cultivation of Euphorbia is complex. Even experienced growers cannot sit back; growing it requires a lot of attention and skill. There is a small group of growers who have deliberately chosen to do this. They like the challenge of 'sculpting' the flower by constantly watching how the plant grows. Watering and topping at the right time is the trick.
