All about the Phlox

The sweet fragrance makes Phlox, also known as the Butterfly Flower, a real enticer to make field bouquets with. The radiant colours do the rest: from pure white to a wide palette of pink and purple tones.

Phlox belongs to the flame flower family (Polemoniaceae). The name Phlox is derived from phlogos, the ancient Greek word for flame. Phlox is therefore also called flame flower.

The Phlox originates from North America and is best known as a garden plant. As a cut flower, Phlox was somewhat forgotten, but nowadays this summer flower is fortunately cultivated in abundance again, including in the Netherlands, Israel and Kenya.

Phlox is a beautiful plant that is very popular.

Phlox is beautiful in field bouquets, as if you have just picked the flowers. The flower lives on in the vase; all the buds open up. Sometimes Phlox drops a single flower. Just leave it there, as this adds to the field bouquet effect. Combine Phlox with other cheerful picking flowers such as Campanula and Lavatera. Instant summer atmosphere!
