Tips for Allium

Allium is a strong flower that lasts a long time and is a real eye-catcher in any bouquet. Whether you put them in a vase on their own or incorporate them in a bouquet, Allium makes a statement. Want to keep Allium looking beautiful for even longer? Grower Bart Heemskerk provides some tips.

  • Change the water regularly and cut off a small piece of the stem so that the flower can continue to drink effectively.

  • Let the flowers dry for a dried bouquet. Then you can enjoy them for months, not just days.

  • Ideal as a focal point in the centre or at the top of a bouquet.

  • Purple Allium goes well with Paeonia, white roses, green foliage, and yellow and orange flowers.

The '365 days of flowers' campaign is an initiative of the promotion committee 365 days of flowers, part of Royal FloraHolland. Over 1,800 growers from 15 different countries make this possible. They grow over 150 different flowers, which are promoted throughout the year based on Royal FloraHolland's availability dates. The objective of the '365 days of flowers' campaign is to jointly develop sales opportunities for florists.
