“Use the water from the cask the flowers are delivered in. It contains a special pre-treatment so the water is better absorbed into the stem.”
He also gives the following tips:
The flowers do not thrive in direct sunlight or draughts, so choose a semi-shaded spot more suited to them.
When caring for Astilbes it is important to use flower food, not just water.
When putting together a bouquet it is best to place the Astilbes in the centre rather than the outside, as they are less affected by evaporation there.
