Friederike Rahlfes (46) is an interior architect and master florist and founded Milles Fleurs in Hannover in 2002.

Friederike, how do you stay up to date?

“When I was sixteen, my mother told me: You need to learn to steal with your eyes. And that’s what I do. In this digital world, we have so many possibilities. I watch a lot of videos on Instagram – not so much the techniques, but especially unique floral design. I also exchange ideas with other florists, both online and offline. I read floristry magazines too. I flip through them, and if something touches me, I read the article. And over the years, I met a customer who feels like a muse. When she has an idea, I think: Yes, brilliant!”

The '365 days of flowers' campaign is an initiative of the promotion committee 365 days of flowers, part of Royal FloraHolland. Over 1,800 growers from 15 different countries make this possible. They grow over 150 different flowers, which are promoted throughout the year based on Royal FloraHolland's availability dates. The objective of the '365 days of flowers' campaign is to jointly develop sales opportunities for florists.
