All about the Muscari

A beautiful spring flower to add to your assortment is the Muscari, also known as Blue Grape. This flower spreads a sweet, spicy fragrance. Just one flower in a field bouquet is enough to perfume your living room. Blue grapes (Muscari) are native to countries around the Mediterranean and Asia Minor.

Muscari is derived from the Greek 'moschos', meaning musk, a reference to the slightly sweet, earthy scent the flowers give off.

Blue grapes grow only 20 to 30 centimetres tall. You can either put them solo in a vase or incorporate them into low bouquets (for example, with Snowdrops and Hyacinth). Keep in mind that the grapes will continue to grow in the vase. And did you know there is also a white variety? It's also simply called 'blue grape'!
