Anemone

As soon as spring arrives, you can expect plenty of anemones again. The classic colour of Anemone is blue, but now the colour palette has expanded to include all kinds of blue-purple variations as well as white, pink and red. The distinctive black heart makes every Anemone an eye-catcher. The wreath of curly leaves - just below the flower - finishes it off.

Anemones are often used in cheerful spring bouquets, but they also look great on a flower stick (back in fashion!). The anemone belongs to the ranunculus family and is derived from the Greek word 'anemos', meaning wind. This name is well chosen, as the flower lives up to its name by dancing on the softest breezes.
