How to get your shop ready for Christmas

Jeannette Philippo is a freelance flower stylist and works among others in flower shops and at fairs at home and abroad. Read her five tips for getting your shop ready for Christmas!

Tips from stylist Jeannette

  1. Create Christmas arrangements as a foundation that customers can decorate with fresh flowers every year. This way you can change colour or style every year!

  2. Dare to do something different from the rest. For one week, put the spotlight on a specific flower, such as the Protea. Customers don’t actually want ‘what everyone already has’, and this way you make it special.

  3. Make sure that coming into your shop is an experience during the festive season. Choose a particular theme to help you transform your shop, for example ‘forest’ or ‘white Christmas’.

  4. Display small illuminated Christmas trees at eye level in your shop.

  5. Do your buying on time! Dry products are much cheaper then, and they will keep for a long time.

The '365 days of flowers' campaign is an initiative of the promotion committee 365 days of flowers, part of Royal FloraHolland. Over 1,800 growers from 15 different countries make this possible. They grow over 150 different flowers, which are promoted throughout the year based on Royal FloraHolland's availability dates. The objective of the '365 days of flowers' campaign is to jointly develop sales opportunities for florists.
